A New Voice for Mental Health.

Welcome to the official site of Out of the Blue.

Do-it-Up Blue in South Eastman so we can become a model region for positive mental health.

Out of the Blue is a regional public awareness and education program that aims to inspire and inform students and youth, residents, businesses and agencies inSE Manitoba. We want to get everyone involved in making positive mental health a priority, creating a new voice for mental health and mental illness in our region.

 Our new voice will:

  • Increase awareness and develop broad-based support for positive mental health;
  • Increase awareness of suicide as a problem that is preventable, through a focus on education and advocacy of positive mental health;
  • Reduce the stigma associated with mental illness;
  • Support the development and implementation of community-driven suicide awareness and prevention programs;
  • Promote accurate mental health information;
  • Encourage help seeking behavior by open, direct and honest talk about suicide; and,
  • Spread hope for recovery.

Out of the Blue was developed by the South Eastman Suicide Prevention Committee with funding from Manitoba Health. The SESPC includes youth, people affected by or concerned about suicide, community agencies, public health and mental health organizations, and faith-based organization; and is chaired by the South Eastman Health Mental Health Promotion.
